Working on the floor we have removed all types and lengths of nails that had been used when the underlayment and carpet installed However this nail… was it used when the carpet was installed or had it been buried in the flooring beforehand?
There is a lot of history showing in this floor. The first record for this location is in 1900 when it was a saloon. By 1911 the saloon was called the Senate Cafe and Restaurant and featured “choice wines, liquors, and cigars”. By 1913 it was a grocery store with a bakery later added. Some time between 1933 and 1937 the building became Harry’s Auto Accessories, which remained at that location until approximately 1990 when the business was moved. R-D Bike Shop moved in in 1992 and we have been here ever since.
